Description: This 19th Century Irish Antique Silver Coffee Pot has more going on than a mere mortal can describe. There is profused embossed and chased foliage decorating the body, handle and spout of the pot. The pot includes two shaped cartouches with a bright cut family crest for Murphy’s. The motto inscribed on this crest reads ”Fortis Et Hospitalis” which is translated as “Brave and Hospitable”.
This very fine and impressive coffee pot has an octagonal panelled form with a flared base. The hallmarks on the underside of the coffee pot are very clear. The beautiful profile and exuberant decoration on this silver coffee pot makes it a very special piece.
Dimensions: Length 23.5cm/9.25″ handle to tip of spout. Width 11.5cm/4.50″ base of pot. Height 26.5cm/10.4″ top of finial to base.
